VIA Travel has acquired Linders Resor AB from Magnus Linder and Göran Linder, his father and company founder. Through the acquisition, VIA Travel expands its operations in the Stockholm market with 24 employees and about NOK 140 million in revenue.
VIA Travel is the largest travel management company in the Nordic region with total turnover of more than NOK 8 billion. VIA is the market leader in Norway and Denmark, number five in Finland and has, after its recent acquisitions, become the fourth largest player in Sweden. The company recently reported record results for 2006 and its best Q1 results ever.
“Magnus Linder and his team have built Linders Resor into a customer oriented and well run travel management company. Together, we will build on this success by leveraging VIA’s leading position in the Nordic market and thereby provide even better service and more value to our customers”, says John Lundmark, CEO of VIA Travel AB, adding that he is very impressed with the company’s management and customer service.
Former majority owner, Magnus Linder believes that this is the natural next step in the development of Linders and says “the travel industry is consolidating and Göran and I are confident that Linders has found a great home with VIA, the market leader. Although Linders will later change name to VIA, I and the rest of the team will continue to provide the outstanding customer service for which we are known. As part of the VIA family, I look forward to continued growth”.
VIA’s acquisition of Linders (created in 1979) follows its recent acquisitions of Broströms Resebyrå, VIA Travel Vestfold, and Travelzon.
VIA Travel Group is represented at 90 locations with 1,300 employees (including franchises). VIA Travel is ISO Certified and a partner in RADIUS, one of the largest travel management organizations in the world.
