Global PE Alliance welcomes it’s 8th member – South America’s Victoria Capital Partners
Expertise and networks now established across Europe, Asia and Latin America.
The Global PE Alliance was established in 2009 to pool the knowledge, networks and expertise of its member firms and provide investee companies with invaluable global reach and insight.
In October 2013, the Alliance welcomed it’s 8th member, Victoria Capital Partners. Victoria invests in businesses across South America, focussing on Brazil, Argentina, Peru, Colombia and Chile with offices in São Paulo, Buenos Aires and Bogotá. The investment team at Victoria has been together for 15 years and has over US$1.5 billion in assets under management. Victoria is led by Managing Partners Carlos Garcia and Mario Spinola e Castro.
Rob Conn (Innova), who heads up the Alliance Steering Group, commented: “We seek to partner with teams that are aligned in their approach to business-building and will contribute to the Alliance’s highly cohesive culture. Victoria is a top-tier firm and was our standout candidate in terms of fit“.
Victoria joins CITIC (China), capiton (Germany, Austria and Switzerland), FSN (Scandinavia), Innova (Central and Eastern Europe), ISIS (UK), India Value Fund (India) and Turkven (Turkey). All members are among the best performing and longest established mid-market PE firms in their regions.
Mario Spinola e Castro, a co-managing partner of Victoria Capital commented “With more than 225 deals executed in 25 countries, the alliance complements our experience in Latin America and provides our portfolio companies with a network of peers to help expand their businesses.
The alliance brings a truly unique opportunity to share sector and deal experiences as well as exchange knowledge and best practices with the very best mid market GPs in Europe and Asia.”
Daniel Smith of ISIS, a founding member of the Alliance, added: “We are very excited about extending ISIS’s reach into South America for the benefit of our investee companies. Victoria’s investment performance is outstanding and they have a deep understanding of the hugely varied South America region and an impressive network. We look forward to collaborating with Carlos, Mario and the Victoria team as we widen and deepen our collective expertise and global network.”
